Veno Pilon — heritage brought to mobile
Product management and strategy for a mobile app bringing Veno Pilon's legacy to life — interactive map, guided trails, and rich content for a new generation of visitors.
Making a painter's legacy accessible to everyone
Veno Pilon was one of Slovenia's most significant modernist artists — a figure whose work spans portraiture, social realism, and photography, rooted in the Ajdovščina region. His legacy had depth, but limited digital reach.
The brief was to build a mobile product that made this heritage tangible and navigable — not a digital brochure, but a living guide that could take visitors through the places, stories, and works that defined Pilon's world.
COMMS led the product management and digital strategy — scoping the content architecture, designing the trail system, aligning stakeholders across cultural institutions, and managing the full iOS and Android launch.
Six pieces of cultural infrastructure, one mobile app
A cultural archive became something people could actually carry.
The Veno Pilon app launched on iOS and Android with interactive heritage trails, a location-aware map, and rich editorial content that turned Pilon's life and work into something explorable on the move.
Instead of static reference material, visitors got a guided experience through Ajdovščina and beyond — connecting places, stories, and artworks in a format that feels alive to a new generation.
